Microsoft Maps Fails in the Cloud (BTW Google no better)

So while in the local park with my eldest boy we entered into a small wager on whose path through the park is shortest.  In a short(ish) amount of time I considered using the satellite view in Google Maps to measure the two paths.  Trouble is, the satellite photography for Naas in Google Maps is dire (click to enlarge).

So, I looked at alternatives – specifically the Maps solution from Microsoft Bing.  The view of Naas is sooooo much better:

And drilling down to the park in question, I’m able to perform task in hand:

Wow.  That’s really good, thought.  So much better than Google.  Then I thought, lets see what else is around.  What does the rugby club look like from the air I thought?  Here it is:

Hmmm.  Just goes to prove – don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

BTW I won.  By about 2 meters.
